Emmaunel Kinard

Community Heroes

     Throughout all the world there are a lot of Community Leaders. One of those leaders is Emmanuel Kinard. I interviewed Emmanuel about community heroes. He is a calm, cool, and caring. He  likes his job, dresses nice. Emmanuel works at a bank, but in the community he is with the immigration committee.

     They are trying to get a message out about immigration and what are the needs in a community. Primarily they work with Churches and also with community organizations such as ICIRR (Illinois Coalition for Immigrant and Refugee Rights).  They want to bring people together, they do actives and things with the community. they held a Movie Screening for the film Immigrant Nation.     Emmaunel likes to have fun and chill out with his spare time. He goes on a boat with his cousin, and they also party on the boat some times. Emmaunel has a camping house in the woods, and he also go camping out in the woods. Emmaunel also likes to ride his motorcycle.

      Emmanuel’s hero is his mother because she was a single parent in the city, and she never gave up on him so he never gave up on himself. Emmaunel is a hero to me because he took the time out and stops saying its all about me, and went out and help the community. He starts helping the ones in need. Emmanuel said, "My ideas about community are less gangs, people working together, and people just getting alone with one another.  In a nut-shell, I believe that a community should be a place where the needs of the community are met and safe for a family."
